My current series, Towers, is an exploration of a geographic area as its population size and physical landscape change. It is about the relationship between place and time and our understanding of a space as it evolves. The group consists of shaped paintings. I focus on the structure and color of man-made objects protruding from the natural landscape. Cut from dense fiberboard and then painted, the shapes are graphic and minimal as I reduce information from the environment to only the landmarks I use to navigate the landscape.
